Ever since the special episode on late legendary singer Kishore Kumar was telecasted on 'Indian Idol 12', the reality show has been leading headlines for all the wrong reasons. Singer Amit Kumar who was invited on the special episode as a guest judge had claimed that the makers told him to appreciate the contestants and even blamed other judges Himesh Reshammiya and Neha Kakkar for ruining Kishore Kumar's songs. Since then several celebs like Aditya Narayan, Manoj Muntashir, Abhijeet Sawant have shared their opinion on the same. Joining the bandwagon is none other than iconic singer Sonu Nigam, who had defended Amit Kumar in a video he posted on Instagram. Sonu shared that he has been following the controversy for quite some time but now he can't bear it anymore. He declared at the outset that no one can become Kishore Kumar and not everyone can do justice to his songs. He even said that no one should point fingers on Amit Kumar as he is a great singer and is maintaining a dignified silence over the whole issue. So people should not take undue advantage of him. Sonu also said, 'You should end this controversy. Indian Idol makers are not at fault for asking someone to encourage the contestants and Amit Kumar is not wrong in saying that he praised the contestants. He did not say anything bad about the contestants. Both makers and Amit Kumar are not at fault. Those who are constantly giving weightage to the issue like Manoj Muntashir or Aditya (Narayan) are at fault....I don't want anybody to say anything against Amit Ji. Humse bahot bade artist hain.' Several other singers like Abhijeet Bhattacharya and Kumar Sanu commented on the video while supporting Sonu's thoughts over the whole issue. Earlier Manoj Muntasir commented on the issue and said, 'If Amit Kumar came out and lashed out at the show, he shouldn't have agreed to be a part of it in the first place. He took money for being a part of the show and then criticised it. I wouldn't have done what Amit Kumar did. If I was in his place and not comfortable with the proceedings, I would have told the makers that I don't want to be a part of the show.'
