Gufi Paintal to reprise Shakuni’s role after 30 years

Three decades after BR Chopra’s 1988 mythological epic Mahabharat on Doordarshan, the antagonist, Shakuni Mama played by Gufi Paintal, is back. However, this time he’s taking to theatre to portray the scheming character. The opulent play directed by Puneet Issar, who played Duryodhana in the original series, will have its inaugural run in Delhi in mid-November. Besides Gufi, the play will also see actor Surendra Pal reprising his character of Dronacharya from the TV series.
