COVID-19 crisis: Gurmeet Choudhary collaborates with young doctors, launches free teleconsultation service

The second wave of COVID-19 in India has left our healthcare system overburdened with people facing massive shortage of oxygen cylinders, hospital beds, and medicines. However, amid the crisis, many Bollywood celebrities like Sonu Sood, Akshay Kumar-Twinkle Khanna, Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Sara Ali Khan, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas, and several others have come forward to amplify the needs of many. Now adding his bit, Television turned Bollywood actor, Gurmeet Choudhary has tied up with a team of young doctors across the country to launch Covi-Med, a free teleconsultation service for COVID-19 patients with mild to moderate symptoms, isolated at home so that they don't panic or don't self medicate. He has tied up with 19 young doctors who will be available from 10 am to 8 pm for any doubts related to COVID-19. Not only will the team of doctors provide medical advice but they are also armed with the knowledge on how to deal with the anxiety that comes when recovering from the virus. Once the patient sends a message, they will ask for their details and medical history and a registered practitioner will call them back for further consultation. Meanwhile, earlier, Gurmeet had launched a makeshift hospital – a dedicated Covid Hospital in Nagpur. Giving a glimpse of it, he wrote, 'I am happy to announce the launch of a dedicated makeshift COVID care hospital in Nagpur in collaboration with Dr. Sayyed Wajahatali and team. Astha Dedicated Covid Hospital will work for the welfare of COVID victims. I believe that we need more centers to help people in & around Nagpur so please do reach out to us for any help that is required'.
