In Delhi’s JJ clusters, some abandoned washrooms as well as in-use public facilities have become sites of fear and drug addiction rather than sanitation. Amid discarded syringes and drug fumes, women band together for safety, sanitation workers risk violence, and children learn to navigate danger before hygiene. These vital facilities, run by DUSIB, are crumbling under neglect—turned into drug dens where the vulnerable are left to fend for themselves.
