Who is Rahul Narvekar, new Speaker of Maharashtra Assembly?

Just a day before the crucial floor test on Monday, Rahul Narvekar has been elected as the new Maharashtra Assembly Speaker. BJP's Narvekar, who is a first-time MLA and legislator from Mumbai’s Colaba won with 164 votes against the MVA candidate Ranjan Salvi. 45-year-old Narvekar, who is a lawyer by profession and has done previous stints in the Shiv Sena and the NCP, carries strong political roots.
