Waqf Bill: Rijiju Roars ‘Opposition Misled People', Gogoi Retorts With 'Attack On Constitution' Jibe

Congress Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi was involved in a heated exchange with Minority Affairs Minitser Kiren Rijiju over the new Waqf Amendment Bill tabled in the Lok Sabha today (April 2). Gogoi strongly opposed the Bill calling it an 'attack’ on the Constitution and aimed to target the Muslim community. Earlier, while tabling the new bill, Rijiju had criticised the previous UPA government for misleading people by allowing a person from any religion to create Waqf.
