Uttarakhand tunnel collapse: Bid to rescue 40 workers gets challenging amid falling debris

It was a massive relief for rescuers when they were able to establish contact with 40 workers trapped inside the Char Dham tunnel in Uttarkashi district. The workers were trapped inside after a portion of the under construction tunnel collapsed. The workers are being supplied with food and oxygen through the supply lines. Rescue teams are still facing many challenges. Fresh debris and mud are continuously falling inside the collapsed portion of the tunnel, which is making it difficult to clear up the way for rescue of trapped workers.
