Tetsuya Yamagami: Suspect who shot Shinzo Abe, former Japan PM
Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been shot in the city of Nara. The suspect, identified as Tetsuya Yamagami, has been arrested. Shinzo Abe was shot while he was delivering a speech in the city of Nara in western Japan. Abe was bleeding from his neck and fell unconscious, a Reuters report said. Abe, Japan's longest-serving prime minister, held office in 2006 for one year and again from 2012 to 2020.
