Supreme Court refuses to stay Bihar caste census

The Supreme Court has refused to pass status quo order on Bihar caste survey, saying that restraining the state government from taking policy decisions would be wrong. The Supreme Court said that plea of petitioners that Bihar's caste survey is violative of right to privacy may not be right but the important issue is breakdown of data which would be examined by the court.
