India's medal winners and protesting wrestlers for three days now have been asking for action to be taken against the Chief of the Wrestling Federation of India - Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who is also a member of Parliament from the BJP. Now the Supreme court has directed the Delhi Police to file an FIR against him in light of at least seven wrestlers coming forward with allegations of sexual harassment against him. One of them is a minor. The Supreme Court has questioned why no FIR has been filed against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh so far. Last October, some of India's best known names from the world of wrestling sat in protest at Jantar Mantar after they levelled serious allegations against the WFI chief. They withdrew their protest only after an oversight committee was put in place to check into their accusations. Now they are back fearing that the WFI chief has been given or is close to getting a clean chit. They also want the findings of the oversight panel to be made public.
