Smriti Mandhana, Ashleigh Gardner among top 5 buys at debut Women's Premier League Auction

The debut auction for the Women's Premier League (WPL) witnessed a lot of action off the field. Star India opener Smriti Mandhana stole the thunder becoming the most expensive buy at the inaugural WPL auction in Mumbai on Monday. The five franchises went out on a shopping spree, shelling out big bucks for domestic and international stars at the first ever WPL auction. BCCI secretary Jay Shah said the Women's Premier League will set a template for other sports to follow suit.
