Shinzo Abe taken in air ambulance to hospital

Former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was shot while he was delivering a speech in the city of Nara in western Japan. He was taken in an air ambulance to hospital. Chief cabinet secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said, “Former prime minister Abe was shot at around 11.30am in Nara. One man, believed to be the shooter, has been taken into custody. The condition of the former PM is currently unknown.”
