Punjab finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema slammed the BJP government saying that the saffron party has proved its cowardice by opening fire on unarmed farmers. He said, "The act of Haryana and central government of firing on farmers is condemnable, the government should accept the legitimate demands of farmers. The Aam Aadmi Party stands with farmers, will fight for their rights. A farmer died fighting for his rights today, Aam Aadmi Party expresses grief over this."
