Pune: Padma Vibhushan Babasaheb Purandare passes away

Eminent historian Balwant Moreshwar Purandare passed away on Monday in Pune. He was popularly known as Babasaheb Purandare. The 99-year-old historian was undergoing treatment for old age-related pneumonia. He was honoured with Padma Vibhushan (2019) by the Indian government and Maharashtra Bhushan (2015) by the state government. The last rites of Babasaheb Purandare held with state honours.
