Pune: 85% of Shivajinagar station is complete, first to open along underground Metro route
Shivajinagar station will be the first to open of the five stations along Pune's underground Metro network, which will cover a distance of 5.5km between Agriculture College and Swargate. With multi modal connectivity, entry and exit points are integrated with the Shivajinagar railway station, a Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal bus stop and MSRTC bus depot. Additionally, two subways are suggested to extend the reach of the Metro station, one subway leading to Shivajinagar railway station and the other to the interchange at the main chowk on University Road. The station will be equipped with 5 lifts, 12 escalators, tunnel ventilation and environmental control systems at the platform and concourse level. The work of laying the tracks has been started from Agriculture College towards Civil Court. The station related structures are being constructed at the road level. Hence, around 85 percent of the civil work at the station is completed and the rest is expected to be finished till Civil Court by the end of November.
