Pigeon menace: From lung diseases to ecological imbalance, why pigeons are a cause for concern
Pigeons are a fairly common bird species in India. From the streets to the screens and these birds are a hit everywhere. But they aren’t a favourite anymore because their overgrowing population not only causes hygiene problems, but also major health risks, as per doctors and ornithologists. The major factor contributing to their population are feeders and breeders. From leftover food to grains, everything is fed to them in public places. Easy food has helped them grow and overpopulate thus, harming the delicate ecological balance.
