District rural cops showed their humanity by paying from their own pocket to arrange transportation for a poor tribal man to carry the body of his wife from Vizianagaram to Sorada village, under Pottangi block in Koraput district of Odisha, as he did not have money to hire a vehicle. The 33-year-old tribal man Ede Samulu's ailing wife, Ede Guru, passed away on Wednesday while he was taking her to Sorada in an autorickshaw after doctors at a private hospital in Sangivalasa told him to take his wife back to his village as her health condition was critical and she would not survive. After the woman passed away near Mudidam, the auto driver refused to take the body in his vehicle. He also reportedly charged him 2,000 despite dropping him midway.
