Navi Mumbai: Project affected farmers protest near international airport site

Farmers who gave land for the Navi Mumbai International Airport project held a protest near the airport site. Residents of 27 villages held a protest at the Old-Targhar Chowk, demanding that the airport be named after PAP leader DB Patil. The government has instead named the airport after Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray. After talks with Cidco failed, the farmers stopped work at the airport site.
