Lalduhoma: Former IPS officer who served as Indira Gandhi’s security officer set to become Mizoram CM

The Zoram People's Movement has won a thumping majority in Mizoram assembly polls. And in focus right now is the party’s CM face, the 74-year-old Lalduhoma. He was an IPS officer in Goa, and was in-charge of then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s security in the national capital for some time. He resigned from service to enter politics and became a Congress MP from Mizoram in 1984. He was also instrumental in initiating the peace talks between the Centre and the Mizo National Front due to which peace was established in the state.
