Karva Chauth mass celebration across cities, women fast for husbands’ long life

This year, Karva Chauth was celebrated on Sunday, Oct 24. Married women celebrated the festival decked up in all their finery. Women offered prayers at a mass celebration of Karva Chauth in Indore. They performed the rituals of Karva Chauth including listening to the Vrat Katha story as per the Drikpanchang. In this tradition, women fast for their husbands for their long life. It is broken in the evening after sighting the moon.
