The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on December 26 demolished 36 illegal kiosks and shops that were constructed on government land outside the Govind Devji Temple. In a 2014 judgement, the Rajasthan High Court had ordered the removal of the shops occupying government land. The court also asked the JMC to rehabilitate the shop owners at some other place. Following this, the JMC-Heritage had constructed 36 kiosks just a few distance away from the temple premises. Now, after the shops were allotted to the owners, the illegal structures on government land were pulled down.
