A 13-year-old white tigress, Ragini at Kamala Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya in Indore gave birth to three distinctively coloured cubs on July 24. Two of the cubs are melanistic and white respectively, while the third cub is tricolored, a combination of white, black and orange. A zoo official called it an unusual and probably the first case in India. Ragini along with Vicky, a melanistic tiger were brought to the city from Odisha's Nandankanan Zoological Park under an animal exchange programme and were kept in the same enclosure. The delivery of the cubs raised the count of tigers to 15 in the city zoo.
