Historic! France first country to enshrine abortion rights in constitution

On Monday, France officially incorporated the right to abortion into its constitution, marking a historic milestone celebrated by women's rights organizations and strongly opposed by anti-abortion groups. Abortion rights enjoy broader support in France compared to the US and numerous other nations, with surveys indicating approximately 80% of French citizens supporting its legality. With this decision, France becomes the inaugural nation globally to explicitly enshrine access to abortion within its Constitution, as affirmed by five constitutional experts.
