The DGCA has deregistered three spicejet aircrafts after the lessor Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) requested the aviation regulator. The regulator is also expected to deregister one more aircraft of spicejet after another Irish lessor Alterna aircraft came with similar request. The DGCA has decided on the lessors’ request within the five-day period as stipulated by provisions of Irrevocable De-registration and Export Request Authorisations. This is a part of the Cape Town Convention and provides for the owner of an aircraft to get the same de-registered from the name of a third party in cases like default of lease rentals.
