Days after the Padma award, Google CEO Sundar Pichai gets an FIR

An FIR has been registered on court orders against Google, its CEO Sundar Pichai and five other employees. Filmmaker Suneel Darshan has alleged an infringement of the copyright. Darshan says his movie, 'Ek Haseena Thi Ek Deewana Tha', was uploaded on YouTube. This was done without a contract or consent from the movie’s producer and director. Darshan has been in touch with officials of Google and YouTube since 2017. But no action was taken to remove the movie. The movie-maker says he has incurred losses in crores, since the film was streamed on a digital platform with lakhs of viewers. The court found a prima facie case of infringement of copyright.
