In a new development in the Mahadev app case, a match-fixing angle has surfaced. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has identified Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal as key players in a betting racket linked to match-fixing through a subsidiary app named Mahadev Khiladi. An FIR filed by the Maharashtra Police, following a local court's orders, accuses Chandrakar and Uppal of match-fixing. The network, operating with Bitcoins, spans cities like London, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chhattisgarh. Chandrakar and Uppal, originally from Bhilai and now in Dubai, deny the allegations but are cooperating with the ED. The FIR includes charges under IPC, Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act, and the IT Act, alleging cricket match manipulation by the syndicate involving at least five associates operating from various locations through the Khiladi App and other portals, generating crores per day. The Chhattisgarh Police have issued lookout notices for both individuals. The Maharashtra Economic Offences Wing may take over the 'Khiladi App' probe.
