Another man killed in Punjab after alleged sacrilege attempt
A man was beaten to death over an alleged sacrilege attempt in Punjab's Kapurthala within less than 24 hours after a similar incident took place in Amritsar's Golden Temple. Residents of Nijampur village caught the man from a gurdwara in the wee hours of Sunday, December 19. They alleged that he was seen "disrespecting" the Nishan Sahib (Sikh flag) around 4am. After receiving information about the incident, a police team reached the spot and took the man into custody. However, the villagers insisted that the suspect should be questioned in front of them at the gurdwara itself.
