Women vote: Will it be a gamechanger in Bengal polls?
From cash promises to safety narratives, political parties are going all out to win support of women voters in West Bengal. The Trinamool Congress, led by Mamata Banerjee, is banking on its welfare track record and schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar, while the BJP is offering a massive Rs 3,000 monthly support along with promises on jobs and security. Meanwhile, the Congress is also making its pitch with financial assistance and governance promises. But this election is about more than just money. With rising turnout, and in many cases, women voters matching or even surpassing men, the battle for Bengal is now a battle for women.
