Voting Wave Begins In Assam, Kerala, Puducherry; PM Modi Pushes For Record Turnout

Voting has commenced across Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry in a crucial round of assembly elections involving more than 5.3 crore voters. Polling is being held in a single phase across 296 constituencies, with authorities deploying heavy security, webcasting, and special arrangements for senior citizens and differently-abled voters. Assam is witnessing a direct fight between the BJP-led NDA and the Congress, while Kerala presents a fierce contest between the ruling LDF and opposition UDF. In Puducherry, a multi-cornered battle has intensified the political stakes. Voter turnout and regional dynamics will play a decisive role. The counting of votes will take place on May 4.
