As the Puducherry Assembly elections approach, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has decided to contest all 30 constituencies independently. The party’s candidate list includes A K Sai J Saravanan Kumar from Thirubhuvanai, former AIADMK legislators K A U Asana and L Periyasamy, ex-BJP state president V Saminathan, former Congress MLA N Dhanavelou, and ex-DIG V J Chandran. In parallel, the BJP has announced nine candidates, while the ruling AINRC has finalised a seat-sharing arrangement with the BJP, with 16 and 14 seats allocated respectively. The move marks a significant political development in Puducherry, as alliances and solo campaigns set the stage for a competitive election.
