Migrant workers at Sealdah station, largely from Bihar, appear to have made up their minds about the upcoming Bengal elections. Many hail Mamata Banerjee and the “Bengal model” for its focus on affordable food, lodging, and healthcare. However, when questioned about law and order, opinions were muted. Meanwhile, professionals like hotel management workers point out that while infrastructure is booming with new malls, the lack of job opportunities is a growing concern for youth.
