Kharge Clarifies Modi Remark, Accuses Centre of Misusing Agencies, Slams AIADMK-BJP
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge clarified his statement on Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid a political controversy, saying he never called him a terrorist but meant that the Prime Minister “threatens” opposition parties. Kharge alleged misuse of central agencies like ED, IT, and CBI, claiming they are being used to pressure political rivals. He also criticised the AIADMK for its alliance with the BJP, questioning how it can uphold the ideals of Annadurai while partnering with the ruling party at the Centre. Kharge argued that such political alignments weaken democratic values and institutions. His remarks have escalated the political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP, especially in the southern political landscape.
