BJP Kerala Manifesto Promises Rs 3,000 Pension, AIIMS, High-Speed Rail, and Temple Management
The BJP has unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections, focusing on welfare, infrastructure, and temple reforms. Key commitments include a monthly Rs 3,000 pension for elderly, widows, and poor women, a ‘Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha Card’ providing Rs 2,500 per month for groceries and medicines, and two free LPG cylinders annually. Infrastructure proposals include a high-speed train between Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur, completion of Kochi Metro phases, new metro lines in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, and establishing the state’s first AIIMS. Temple management reforms, including auditing 30 years of administration and investigating the Sabarimala gold theft, are also part of the manifesto. The BJP has promised industrial development in Vizhinjam, Kochi, and Kozhikode, along with backwater tourism and Mullaperiyar dam safety measures. The party aims to combine welfare, development, and faith to expand its political footprint in Kerala.
