His opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, trails with 224 electoral votes.

In his speech, Trump hailed the Republican campaign as "the greatest political movement of all time," pledging, "We are going to help our country heal, fix our borders; we made history for a reason tonight. We have achieved the most incredible political win. I want to thank the American people, and I will fight for you and your family with every breath in my body."

Trump also hinted at a potential final tally, suggesting the Republicans could end up with 315 electoral votes, citing the decisive shift in seven critical swing states. Once a Democratic stronghold, these states swung from a 6-1 Democratic advantage in 2020 to a 7-0 Republican sweep this year. Trump has already secured Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, while maintaining leads in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada.

Adding to the significance of this win, Republicans have regained control of the Senate and are leading in the race for the House of Representatives, solidifying their influence across Washington.

During his victory speech, Trump thanked his supporters, his running mate JD Vance, his wife Melania, and his children, acknowledging their unwavering support through a challenging campaign. He also gave a special mention to Tesla CEO and X owner Elon Musk, a vocal supporter throughout Trump’s campaign.
