As Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is starting its Indian Premier League (IPL) journey with its first match at home ground in Lucknow, team's mentor and former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir said that they have to make Lucknow Stadium their fortress and adapting home conditions is more important for the team. "We have to adapt to the home ground, make it our fortress so that people support us and return happily," he said while speaking on the launch of the team's new jersey at an event in Ahmedabad. While expecting a warm support from the people of Lucknow the former cricketer said that it was always fun playing at home ground. "We want our fans to be loyal. I have played for KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) for a very long time and they were one of the most loyal supporters of KKR and that is exactly what we want to emulate in Lucknow as well," he said. Gambhir want fans of the LSG to enjoy the cricket and cherish the team's performance adding that the results sometimes cannot be the way people wanted them to but "we can still enjoy the way we played on the cricket field and at the same time give that enjoyment to the crowd as well." LSG is scheduled to face Delhi Capitals on April 1 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow in the third match of the IPL 2023.
