Coach Vettori defends SRH's tactics amid criticism of faltering aggressive approach

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s famed aggressive batting has faltered this IPL season despite a star-studded lineup. Head coach Daniel Vettori clarified that SRH never blindly backed aggression, emphasising instead on assessing conditions. “The surfaces weren’t as expected,” he said, noting this season's pitches favoured fast bowlers over high scores. While SRH smashed 286/6 and chased 245 in two games, they struggled otherwise, often losing wickets in powerplays. Vettori praised their bowling against Delhi Capitals — especially skipper Pat Cummins’ three-wicket burst — but lamented the rain washout.
