We should protect, promote folklore: Vice President

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu virtually addressed an event on importance of folklore in society at Raj Bhavan in Bengaluru. VP Naidu said, “Folklore is one of the most important parts of our heritage. It is, in its true sense, the people’s literature.” Naidu also added, “Communities that once practiced these art forms are now vanishing. We should protect and promote them... We should not be influenced and carried away by the western culture. We have a great culture, why should we follow and practice other cultures?”
