The air quality in several parts of north India has deteriorated. Many blame stubble burning in Punjab for the same. However, a farmer from Punjab’s Ferozepur says that the farmers are compelled to burn stubble.Gurnaib Singh from Ferozepur’s Tibbi Kalan village says that stubble burning is not his hobby, but he does not have any other choice.Gurnaib said, “Stubble burning is not our hobby, we are compelled to do it. We feel sad when we burn it. But we have to do it. There is no other option. Factories have been set up now and the government should arrange something to take stubble from the farms. If we compare, the stubble burning cases have decreased. The government has taken a few steps. But more can be done. Before harming anyone else, this stubble will affect us. It is just that we do not have any other option.”
