Vijay Appoints Astrologer As OSD In Tamil Nadu Govt, TVK Allies Call It 'Unacceptable'
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has triggered a fresh political controversy after appointing astrologer Radhan Pandit Vettrivel as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Chief Minister. The appointment came shortly after an earlier row over the Tamil anthem issue. Vettrivel, who is also known as a spokesperson for TVK and a close aide during the recent election campaign, had reportedly predicted Vijay’s electoral victory. The move has drawn criticism from opposition leaders and allies, including Congress MP Sasikanth Senthil and VCK leader D. Ravikumar, who questioned the rationale behind appointing an astrologer to a government post. CPM leader Shanmugam P also termed the decision unscientific and against constitutional values.
