Uttarakhand: ED conducts raids against Ex-CM Harak Singh Rawat in money laundering case

Former Uttarakhand minister Harak Singh Rawat's alleged involvement in a forest scam during his tenure is under scrutiny as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducts raids in Uttarakhand, Delhi, and Chandigarh. The searches, tied to illegal tree cutting and construction in Corbett Park, target Rawat and his associates. Despite permits for only 163 trees, over 6,000 were reportedly cut. Rawat, who switched from BJP to Congress in 2022, faces intensified scrutiny. Additionally, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's personal secretary and AAP associates are also under investigation, with approximately 10 premises in Delhi searched. Meanwhile, ED attaches properties worth Rs 26.19 crore from Janata Dal (United) MLC Radha Charan Sah, linked to a money laundering case involving M/s Broadsons Commodities Pvt Ltd.
