Urdu poet Munawwar Rana returns Akademi award

Joining the growing protests of litterateurs against "rising intolerance" and 'communal' atmosphere in the country, Urdu poet Munawwar Rana on Sunday returned his Sahitya Akademi award. He said that his protest is not in line with all the other writers returning their awards, but against the 'communal' atmosphere in the country. Rana said that he was ashamed of the Dadri incident and urged the government to work towards bringing back the 'golden days' of India.
