Amid the rising water level of the Hindon River, Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma on July 25 said that the people in the low-lying areas have been shifted to some other place. He also warned about the need or being alert for the next 24 hours. He added that the administration is alert to the situation. Further talking about the video from Noida where hundreds of cars were seen stranded in water, he said that they were informed beforehand but they did pay any heed to it. “The water level of Hindon River has been rising for last 3 days. People living in nearby low-lying areas have been shifted. Water level is stable but we need to be alert for next 24 hours. Administration is alert on the situation. NDRF teams have been deployed and other arrangements have been done to tackle problematic situations. A video is viral of a private cab company yard where they have dumped cars. Since last for days, we were alerting them to shift the cars, but they didn't,” said Manish Kumar Verma. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded in Noida’s Echotech area due to a rise in the water level of the Hindon River on July 25. The vehicles were seen almost submerged in the water making it ‘Water Parking’. Several houses were also submerged in the low-lying areas on July 23. Light to moderate rains were witnessed in parts of the NCR, including Noida, in the early hours of July 25. Amidst heavy rainfall in parts of the country, the IMD has issued alerts for Maharashtra, Haryana, Chandigarh, UP, Rajasthan, HP, and Uttarakhand.
