Ambassador of India to the USA, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, spoke on the India-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) and the India AI Impact Summit. He said the India-EU FTA has been under discussion for more than 18 years and is comprehensive, covering trade in goods, services, investments, and technology, with legally binding provisions across several chapters. French Ambassador to the US, Laurent Bili, welcomed the FTA, saying it strengthens India-EU engagement and fosters economic, technological, and scientific cooperation between the regions. On the India AI Summit, Kwatra highlighted that it is the first time the event is being held in a Global South country and is anchored on three “sutras”: people, ensuring cultural diversity, dignity, and access to technology; planet, promoting technology for global progress; and progress, driving economic and technological development and societal prosperity. The summit aims to showcase India’s leadership in AI and promote inclusive, sustainable innovation worldwide.
