This will be the second total lunar eclipse of 2018. The first one took place on 31st January this year. The eclipse will be visible in large part of Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe and South America. The moon will be completely covered by the Earth's umbra for 103 minutes. It will be the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century. On July 27/28 Moon will reach its apogee the point on its orbit farthest from the Earth. It is also known as Micro Moon, this may look smaller than a normal full moon. It will take longer time to move out of Earth's shadow compared to a full moon that is eclipsed closer to earth. That is why duration of this eclipse will be longest in this century. On July 27 the lunar eclipse will be visible in India for its entire duration. A total lunar eclipse will start at 11:43 pm and last till 03:49 am. At 1 am blood moon is expected to set, which could last till 2.43 am.
