‘TMC Fooled Muslims, Suvendu Is Secular’: Ajmal Siddiqui Resigns From Post, Slams Abhishek Banerjee
TMC State Minority Cell Secretary Ajmal Siddiqui resigned from his post and launched a strong criticism of the party’s leadership and functioning. Speaking after his resignation, Siddiqui said he took the decision shortly after returning from the Hajj pilgrimage. He alleged that the party was plagued by controversies and failed to work effectively for the people, making it difficult for him to continue. Siddiqui further claimed that internal advancement within the organisation was driven by sycophancy and alleged that the party’s decline was linked to the leadership style of Abhishek Banerjee. He also alleged that party workers faced harassment, including false cases and financial demands. When asked about joining the BJP, Siddiqui said no decision had been taken and maintained that his priority was to see industrial development and job creation in West Bengal.
