In a fiery speech in the Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi demanded the cancellation of the upcoming India vs Pakistan cricket match in Asia Cup tournament, citing national sentiment in the wake of the brutal Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 Indian lives. Linking the match to Operation Sindoor, she urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to direct ICC Chairman Jay Shah, his son, to take immediate action. “Operation Sindoor is still underway,” she said, quoting PM Modi. “If we’ve restricted the film industry and media, why not cricket too?” She asked how the country could justify playing a match with the nation that harbors terrorists, questioning how the widows of slain soldiers would feel.
