State Govt has right to conduct such surveys: Sitaram Yechury on SC stay on Caste-based Census in Bihar

Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Sitaram Yechury talked about the Patna High Court’s stay on the caste-based census on May 04. He said that the state government has the right to conduct such surveys. I think Government will surely move to the Supreme Court in the matter. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I don’t know why the High Court has put a stay on the survey. The state government has the right to conduct the survey. Also, it is legal. I think Bihar Government will move to the Supreme Court in the matter.
