Sri Lankan Minister Senthil Thondaman giving training to his bulls from the past two months for the Jallikattu competition. He is a native of the Sivaganga district of Tamil Nadu. Jallikattu is a bull-taming sport played in Tamil Nadu as part of the Pongal harvest festival. While speaking to ANI about the event, Senthil Thondaman said that “Jallikattu is a cultural event in the Tamil Community and we have a very strong bonding with it. My forefathers also used to participate in the event. We train our bulls each year by conducting proper exercise, running and swimming. A total of 15 bulls are participating in the event.”
