Shashi Tharoor responds to PM Modi's "Ghamandia" alliance remark
Congress MP Shashi Tharoor responded to Union Minister Pralhad Joshi's description of the opposition alliance as a "Ghamandi" (arrogant) alliance. Tharoor stated, "We have witnessed a clear display of the arrogance of those in power. Therefore, labeling the opposition as 'Ghamand' seems unnecessary and futile, as those displaying arrogance are the ones currently in power. This is evident in our daily experiences. It appears that the name we've given to the alliance has struck a nerve, leading to their exaggerated reaction and attempts to emphasize the name 'Bharat,' which is included in both our names as per the Constitution of India. So, what's the issue with using either name?"Regarding the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Hyderabad, Tharoor remarked, "I believe there are two messages here. Firstly, the introduction of a new team and a fresh beginning, and secondly, the upcoming elections in Telangana. Holding the meeting in Hyderabad signifies that the entire Congress party is deeply committed to these elections. Both messages are relevant. We have a national vision, and we also need to support our colleagues in the state to perform well."
