Security measures in cabs tightened after Uber rape

Following the rape of a female passenger by an Uber cab driver, security measures including background verification of drivers, have been tightened across India. Police in Gurgaon has launched a verification drive of cab drivers with an aim to increase safety of women professionals travelling in cabs. Companies have been asked to track cabs using GPS.
